Workshop 1D: Saturday, October 29 ~ 10:15 am to 11:45
The cosmological belief system of the client is a primary factor in understanding and working with the movement of one’s Constellation. Cosmology is the umbrella or macro container giving life to many of the unconscious or hidden beliefs held within a given family system. It is from this space that unique “healing statements” and systemic order can come to light.
To be of good service to the client and his/her system, the facilitator has a responsibility to allow the field to move in the way that reflects the cosmology of the client and not the facilitator. This workshop will enable facilitators to gain understanding of how individual and family system cosmologies may challenge and enhance the practice and effectiveness of Systemic Constellation Work.
Malidoma will discuss aspects of the cosmological belief system of the Dagara tribe relevant to gender roles and generational placement. He will also discuss issues regarding after-life and reincarnation and its impact on trans-generational application of place, or “order” within the system.
Carolyn will discuss the impact of the Judeo-Christian cosmology on the evolution of Systemic Constellation Work. We will explore how this cosmology has informed the victim- perpetrator dynamic, gender roles, placement and the integration of earth based cosmologies as applied to Constellation work. We will also examine issues pertaining to occasions when the client’s cosmological belief system differs from his/her family system.
This workshop will include both topic discussions and Constellation experience.
This workshop is appropriate to all: those new to the work, facilitators and trainers.
Presenters: Malidoma Some, PhD and Carolyn Zahner, MSW, LISW
